History

The Story Begins…

We started a little wicker and rattan store, LaVale Furniture, in 1977. Later that year we leased 8600 square feet in LaVale Plaza Shopping Center and became Eaton Young Furniture Galleries.


Fast Forward…

Over the next 21 years, we expanded within the shopping center 3 times until 1998 when we purchased the present property on Winchester Road. The current facility has over 27,000 square feet of display with a room-setting layout, enhanced lighting, and specialized departments including: area rugs,bedding,youth, casual & formal dining, stationary & motion seating, and leather.

Our knowledgeable sales and design staff are capable of assisting you, both in the store and through in-home consultation. Lois McManus, BS in Art from Frostburg State University, has 35 years experience. Joanne Wagoner, with 38 years of experience, has obtained certification from Penn Foster as an accredited Interior Decorator. Karen Mason offers a degree in Interior Design from WVU, in addition to her 30 years experience in the industry. Our newest team member, Brandy Lynch holds a BS from WVU as well as several years of experience in furniture & decor sales and design.

We are fortunate enough to have a great team of men that make up our warehouse and delivery staff. Randy House, Jeff Matthews, Dale Sines, Jay Gardner and Eric  are the dedicated and professional personnel that deliver, set-up, and maintain our inventory.

Our second generation Vice President, Mac Young, joined the company in 2006 and has a BS in Business Administration from West Virginia University. Mary Beth Young, our den mother, bookkeeper and problem solver has an MBA from Lehigh University. George Young, President and CEO, opened the doors in 1977 and has a BS from Lehigh University.

Since the beginning, we have committed ourselves to offering better quality furniture at off-price with enhanced display and superior service.
